What do Election Officers do?
Election officers set up the precinct for the election including making sure equipment is operating properly and signage is put in place. On Election Day, they check in voters, distribute ballots, and provide assistance in using the voting machines. At the end of Election Day, election officials will tabulate results and clean up the polling place.
Is Training Provided?
Yes. All new Election Officers are required to attend a 2-hour training class. Classes are held prior to each election at several locations at a variety of times. A schedule of training classes and a link to sign up online is included with your assignment information for each election delivered via email.
